1979 Mazda 626 2.0 GLS 4 door saloon.

The special thing about this car is that it’s literally brand new. It only has 100 km on the odometer. It survived untouched as part of the abandoned inventory at the famous time capsule, the Auto Macchi dealership.

The car’s powerplant is a 90 hp, 2 litre SOHC engine (MA family), powering the rear wheels through a 5 speed manual gearbox.

The car was never registered but has undergone classic car certification and can be registered as a vintage automobile.

Price: 79 000 z ($21 405).

Extremely cool.

I have some zloty. Czech?

I regret that it’s not a rot nor a one of them coupes with the split b-pillar. But it’s still so cool. Would love to buy it and just treat it as a daily, as per a Mazda customer from the period. But it might be too nice for that.

I think the split pillar was actually a 929.

Poland? Very nice, and a fair price as well if it was rhd, but It would make a nice addition to a collection.

Im going CP

Sure it’s a time capsule relic but nothing about it is special - other than the color, that’s a good color.

Is not a perfectly preserved Mercedes and or hell even a Cedric. Plus it looks like what you’d get if you asked a 6 year old to draw a car.

It’s amazing, but at that price it is only useful for a museum. I would be too afraid from using it, and rather buy a 2-door HT in decent condition for a tenth of the price.

CP as someone who grew up driving shitty 70’s cars I just can’t maybe $500.

I will preface this by saying that my top two dream dailies are a Eunos Cosmo, and a first gen 626 coupe that’s been either swapped to a 13B or a 1.8 BP. (This 626 as a coupe is just drop-dead gorgeous to me.)

CP all the way. Is this a museum piece, deserving of a spot at Peterson or LeMay? Absolutely. Should they pay 20 grand for it? Absolutely not.
